Training goes beyond the confines of classrooms and simulators.
While classroom learning sets the foundation, everything truly comes together when you step on board. Onshore education often lacks the exact equipment, procedures and crew you'll encounter when you return to your vessel.
Tried and tested since 2010, our training goes beyond just improving procedures. We're all about transforming your crew into a highly skilled and cohesive team, ready to tackle emergencies with exceptional expertise and professionalism. We ensure that every crew member knows what to do and understands the "why" behind their actions, demonstrating their competency. This provides guests and owners with a heightened sense of safety and confidence in their surroundings.
Additionally, Captains will discover that there's no need for micro-management. Instead, they can focus on strategic decisions, informed by the valuable information provided by the empowered crew and On Scene Commander. It's a game-changer for maritime excellence.
Ideally suited for both new build and operational vessels. This training and assessment is designed to train the crew, so they are competent in the role and substitute role they carry out during a fire emergency. The course covers the safety procedures a crew should follow using their own yacht and own firefighting equipment.
This Flag State accredited course is designed to give members of crew who hold a responsibility for the safety of passengers in emergency situations the essential education and training in crisis management and human behaviour meeting the knowledge, understanding and proficiency requirements as specified in A-V/2, paragraph 3 of the STCW Code.
While no longer a requirement to submit a formal Risk Assessment to the Flag State for a vessel to navigate primarily on an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), MGN 285 strongly recommends a risk assessment is conducted and held on board when vessels are looking to transition to primary means of navigation by electronic means.
If you work aboard a passenger ship and your muster list duties require you to assist passengers in emergency stations, prior to being assigned any shipboard duties you must complete training in crowd management. The training is ship-specific and recognised for Continuing Professional Development via the Nautical Institute. There is a requirement to refresh this training every five years.
